the possibility of a B-run on a 6wt fly rod?

We had a Trout mount at the Lodge of a 26" Rainbow taken on a 1 wt. Like I said, if you use the rod correctly, you can land big fish on any size rod.
F&G would have nothing to do with your choice, that is just sportsmenship choice. No law involved although there should be.
Fishing is a blood sport no two ways about it. How messy it gets is up to each of us.

And for the record, Poles have eyes, Fly Rods have guides...[laugh][laugh][laugh]

I am with you, if you have to de-ice every other cast, it takes all the fun out.

I watched a show called fishing Alaska where they did drag the big fish up on the rocks and if that wasn't bad enough, the stepped on them to remove the hook. Then kicked them back in the water.
I don't get that at all.

I don't think I would go any smaller than a six Chrome. It is cold. Just try to keep them in the water as I am sure ICING UP isn't real great for the fish either.
