The Portneuf dumps into American falls Res. It does eventually dump into the Snake, but the reservoir needs to be almost empty and even then they don't come together until they are both at Aberdeen. The Snake runs down the west side of the reservoir, the Portneuf runs down the east side of the reservoir.
