I'm in favor of the extended season and I too don't think it will change much as far as number of fish taken over all. Most of the ice fisherman that I've fished next to the last couple of yrs really haven't done very well. Also- Henry's Lake has some of the worst wind throughout the yr and with snow/temps below 20 degrees there won't be that much pressure.
The size of the fish have been "on the average" smaller this yr however I've never had so many 20+ fish days as I have had this yr ( had 5 days this yr[cool]). Now the LUNKERS are in there and I've been with two different guys that have landed (and released) two hybrids at the 10lb mark. I've only fished there 9-10 times this yr so it's been an amazing yr for Henrys. I do know that in waters where there seems to be a lot of smaller fish it's usually due to "too much" of the catch and release so maybe thinning some of these fish will improve our numbers of large ones-just a thought.
