Henry's Lake F&G Proposal
#25
Lone Wolf-

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion which is what makes America great. I am merely a weekend fish junky and not a fisheries biologist. When the biologists (experts on the subject matter) have determined that the lake can support a longer season, I would tend to believe their expertise and support their recommendations. If they were to say that Henrys was being overfished and recommended shortening the season I would support that too. The slippery slope fallacy I see is that keeping the season open longer is going to dramitically impact the fishery because that is what has happened everywhere else. Truth being told, there are so many other statistical factors that impact a fishery that no one REALLY knows the absolute truth. If 90% of the fish are dying of old age as stated by the F&G, you and I are missing out on a lot of catch and releases! I believe Henrys is one of the best lakes anywhere to catch large cutthroat and brookies and would never support any policy that I thought would lead to it's demise.
Personally I am more likely to fish it through the ice for the same reasons that are being mentioned above. Fighting the people at the boat ramps and combat fishing are not my idea of fun.
