* LAKE MEAD -- Recent storms have slowed the striper bite. But warmer temperatures should make for good fishing conditions over the weekend. Anglers report fair action for stripers with cut anchovies off the shore and from boats in the Vegas Wash area and Overton Arm. Spoons and top-water lures will take fish near the surface. Catfish have been biting cut anchovies fished off the bottom. Largemouth and smallmouth bass are fattening up for cooler months. Now is a good time to catch some nice fish.
*LAKE MOHAVE -- Anglers can find large stripers down river from Willow Beach. The key is persistence. Large rainbow trout imitation lures will catch fish. Trout fishing is good immediately after the plant every Friday morning. Striper fishing remains slow near Cottonwood Cove. Cut anchovies and stink baits will pick up catfish off the bottom up to 5 pounds. Like Lake Mead, largemouth and smallmouth bass are fattening, which will produce quality fish.
*LAS VEGAS URBAN PONDS -- All ponds are producing catfish, though patience is required to catch fish. Stink baits, hot dogs and shrimp are baits of choice. Worms still are catching bluegill, though action is beginning to slow.
*KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA -- Fishing for trout should be good at all reservoirs. Bass fishing is fair but will decline with cooler weather.
*EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR -- Trout fishing remains excellent at this reservoir. Anglers are catching fish using a variety of techniques. Rainbows are hitting PowerBait while browns and tigers will focus on worms, lures and flies.
*ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR -- Surprisingly, crappie fishing reportedly has been good. One angler reported success while using a black jig. Trout fishing remains fair to good using a variety of techniques
