Got there late in the afternoon, and the trout were frothing the water... but I couldn't match the hatch!!!

PMD's, Baetis, crane flies, and caddis were all over the place. I touched a a couple fish with a size 20 CDC Baetis, but couldn't get the hook to hold, so I switched to deep nymphing with a pMD emerger... and caught small whitefish.

Out of despiration, I put on a big old parachute adams and cast it towards where I'd heard a pig slurping all night. It was almost dark, but I saw just the slightest shine of a rise form next to the rock where I thought my fly should be, and I struck. I was rewarded with an explosion and landed the 20 incher in the photo. Happy Freaking Halloween!
