mission bay

[cool]Spotted bay bass are the most common lure-munchers. Some sand bass and an occasional lost calico. Lots of short halibut, with some big ones on occasion. There are even some junior WSB that come cruising in during the wee hours, around the channel entrance.

Depending on where you fish and what time of day and what you are using for bait, you can catch corbina, spotfin croaker and even a stray BONEFISH or two.

There are always lots of members of the shark and ray family in there. Hook a big bat ray and water ski behind it.

Tides can be important. You have to watch for currents and the same currents get the fish moving and biting. Hit the points and pilings in the current and you never know what might hit.

Be careful. There is a lot of potential for "eye strain" down there. Definitely a good place to watch the scenery. Just don't let it distract you from the important stuff, like fishin'.
