Foggy Deer Creek 10-18-10

[cool][#0000ff]A lot of our trips combined diving and fishing. Those orange "baldys" were a pretty nuisance while trying to find a few bugs or abalones. They got no fear. Too bad the big calicos weren't so friendly.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Not sure I would wanna make that run in an open bow craft...especially in any kind of chop. Heck, there were times we turned around even with the super seaworthy craft we had. We took plenty of foolish chances but none that were guaranteed to put us on the late news. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Made the trip back to the mainland in following 15 to 20 foot seas one time. A major onshore blow came up while we were frolicing on the lee side of the island. Once we got out in the channel it was like surfing. Sure glad we weren't trying to make headway against those swells. Put some permanent fingerprints on the rails that time. Lots of pucker.[/#0000ff]
