Lower Henry's Fork 9/12
#1
Headed up just past St. Anthony yesterday afternoon to see how the fishing was. As expected it was good! First cast I had a light hit then saw a decent brown following my rapala in right to the shore before heading back to deeper water. 3 casts later I hook up on a decent brown that was in the 18-20 inch range. A few casts later I Hook up again! I managed to land 4 and lost 1 before it slowed. About a half hour later I snagged on bottom. I tried popping it loose with no luck. Then I moved upstream to try shifting the direction of pull. Just as I applied some extra pressure the line starts pulling back! FISH ON! This one really was ticked, and plenty big since I initially thought for sure it was a rock. After a few minutes I got it landed w/ the help of my fishing buddy. A very nice brown. Over the next couple hours I landed a few more and lost a few. 2 rainbows were landed that were right around the 20 inch range. The rest were all browns in similar size. Didn't have any luck w/ the fly rod though.
