I packed in with the Trout Unlimited equivalent of a Classic Accessories Kennebec - I partially deflate and fold the pontoons and back rest and then strap it on the back of my internal frame pack. It weighs a little over 12#, but really is not designed for packing. A little too much bulk. My fishing partner (pic) was packing in with a lighter tube - Uboat design - that weighed about 8#, but I cant tell you what it is. It did fit nicely over his external frame pack and was a lot more streamlined. I think one of the better tubes for packing is the Classic Accessories Togiak - it still weighs about 12#, but has less bulk, has straps, and might fit between the trees better. I'm just one of those guys who usually doesn't replace something until it breaks - and, in spite of hanging up in the garage for years, it still holds air!
