in my experience the best fishing is out of hite. The ramp is very primitive but if you can get on the lake with that boat you should be good. White canyon, farley and trachyte are good bets for fishing close to Hite. We camped in four mile canyon in a tent and used that as a base camp on a couple trips and did pretty well, that'll save you from having to run far every day to get where you want. Four mile puts you in between white and good hope bay which are both good places for stripers and the bucketmouths are in every canyon. On our trips we definitely found the more time we spent using the trolling motor the less we burned in gas so find a good area, like more or less the entire lake, and just use electricity to get you about.
