Saturday morning adventure, destination Vernon Resivior, Fall is always fun at Vernon, but I was a bit to early I guess, Hit the water at 7:45 am the wind was already blowing! Only my 2nd trip in my new Fat Cat so i am not quite use to it. I learned not to mess with a second pole with the wind blowing. I tangle up abit several times untill I put one pole away. I am determined now to install the electric motor, the wind blew me to the north end of the lake quickly and it took me several hours of hard kicking to get back to the south end where I parked. I just never felt comfortable with any presentation today and it showed with no fish, no bites. It was fun to get out though, I think I just need some time on the tube to get used to it and figure out how to fish out of it. I was using my Bottom line fish finder but I think I need to switch to my Hummingbird, so more mods in store, I also noticed the placement of my rod holders were totally wrong, I have to reach to far out to grab my pole and also my cutting board design really sucked, guess I will have to follow tubeduds method on that one also. My legs will be sore in the morning but I am already planing the next trip.
One question though I notice most of you concentrate on warm water species, do many of you fish trout out of tubes? I am a bit nervous to get to far out on the big lakes in the areas I usually fish in my boat. I am hoping the electric motor gives me more confidence.
