In still water I use an old fashioned 10 pound mushroom. For moving water I go with a lighter downrigger ball. The mushroom can get heavy when it has a bunch of moss on it. My Colorado toon has a pully system built in. I changed the cheap pullies for some nicer sailboat ones. Got them at Sids in SLC. The rope just uses a wedge cleat.

I like the idea of a chain gob on a Beener. One down side is that if it skips on the bottom someone might think you are shuffling.
