Well, I stayed up all night and went to Blacktail this morning before the sun had come over the mountain.
Caught some small bass on a worm just left of the boat ramp, dropped my crawdad trap under the little dock there with 2 chicken wings. Then headed around the rocks a bit. Caught a few more on a rubber crawdad but I think I missed a few good bites because I didn't have a treble hook.
Came back around and pulled it up and I had a single crawdad in the trap, my first ever. It was bigger than I was expecting it to be so I didn't want to use it as bait, and I wasn't done fishing so I dropped it back in. I thought it might escape and I was right, but I didn't really want to go to too much trouble for just one.
Anyone caught any in the snake around IF? I hate to pay 3 dollars just to go fish at blacktail for 30 minutes. I did just hear they are in the blackfoot river and resivoir. They would cling to the rocks and the guys would reach down and stab them with a fork. They were soft, so I assume they had just molted.
