I saw a report that hatcheries that used corn on one set of fish and pellets on another didn't notice any real difference in fish kill from the corn. They didn't grow quite as big on corn in the same time period, but didn't have any other adverse effects.

I always assumed that was why corn was illigal in Wyoming, because they feed the fish corn in the hatcheries before stocking them
