the shallow water can be a curse or a blessing in this area. the fist time i went there it was already dark when i arrived. i threw out a cricket and a 1 oz sinker. the line slacked immediately. i doubt it was four feet deep 150 feet from shore . but for an hour i couldn't keep the cats off my line long enough to finish a beer! i thought i found a gloryhole......but it wasn't to be. i went there three times after that and got skunked. i heard a group whooping and holloring down towards cottonwood and they were slaying them. the next morning i investigated and found the water deeper and the fish very willing to bite. so it just depends where the fish are. i dont take all my gear out until i try it out in one depth or the other as it's not to fun to stare at a pole that never moves all night. as people have said the guy that owns the fishin' hole is very helpful in telling you the up todate hot spots..............i noticed the spots he told me got better when i bought a couple packs of rubber worms and some minnows! good luck guys !
