When Idaho Game and Fish inspected my boat last year and found my fire extinguisher was from 96, they grabbed it and beat it against the ground a few times. They said that they were instructed by there fire official that the dry chemical extinguishers dont go bad and just need the chemicals mixed off the bottom each year, regardless of the experation date. Then that same year a month later the DWR made me get a new one[unimpressed].
