Kokanee from kayak or pontoon?
#23
Don,
Yeah, I have been lucky! 40 years of dragging the bottom
at Payette Lake, and never lost one. Came mighty close several times. There were two of us who fished Payette L. regularly (compulsively!) and we differed in our approach. He believed in dragging the ball on the bottom. I was an advocate of keeping the ball 3 feet off the bottom. (Plus, my favorite spots were sand bars--few snags). I could keep it at that depth pretty effectively in that until 3 years ago, I had a center console Gregor and could easily crank the Penn d.r. from my seat. The Penns have huge depth numbers on the side and so it was quite easy. Now with my Hewescraft, it is much more difficult, and since we sold the cabin in McCall, I have moved on. I do miss it, however. That lake has some monsters. My wife's last mac was weighed at 33 pounds before releasing, our largest ever. Mike
