I fished with 8/0 circle hooks exclusively on the trip I had last week for sturgeon. The hooks didn't miss hooking a single bite and I even hooked a 7 pound channel cat. It sure takes the guess work out of hooking them, but I missed the thrill of attempting the hookset. On future trips I will likely alternate between the regular octopus hooks that I have always used in the past and the circle hooks.
