I recently broke the tip section of a 4 piece Sage 6 wt that is 30 years old. It was one that I built up from a Sage blank. Sage replaced the section for $50 and shipping. Now I have to wrap the guides and set the tip but is sure a lot cheaper than buying a new Sage rod. Check with the manufacturer. You have to send the rod in. If it is one you bought as a ready to fish rod, not a blank, they will send you back a ready to fish rod with a new tip section for a nominal fee.
Old rods like my sage are like old friends. You just don't want to let them go. They are worth repairing.
