I'm always leery of laying my rod down without attaching it to something. Once I net the fish, I put the rod in the holder while removing the hook and releasing the fish. If I'm sitting the lean bar stripping basket kind of gets in the way.

Do the same for minor re-positioning with the motor or the oars.

Guess I can only do one thing at a time.
