I would only add that though each type can be charged with a generic or auto charger, they will last longer if charged with the proper voltage cutoff charger designed for them. Because the engine alternator cutoff voltage is set higher for a starting battery, I wouldn't permanently use a SEALED deep cycle as a starting battery. Unlike most of us, most marine batteries are sold to stinkpot boaters that probably go out an average of only 5 times a year during holidays. Just about any battery and charger will work, if you don't go out much....
