If the lake has gizzard or threadfin shad or other baitfish then artificial baits that imitate them should perform well for you. As far as natural baits, we use frozen sardines and anchovies on Lake Mead. If you can catch the native baitfish, they will outperform almost anything as a live bait. Using the actual hatch is better than just matching it []
