Best float tube for backpacking into high mountain lakes?
#3
I use an older Caddis Nav II because it is light - about 8 lbs. And I already have it. But with it I also sit down much lower in the water (colder).
It is similar to this one: http://www.sierratradingpost.com/p/4360,...-Tube.html

I like these nice light fins. They pack nice and flat. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templa...hasJS=true

The Outcast Trinity should have you sitting more out of the water.

I have also used the little "Trail Boats" , but they are pretty delicate and somewhat dangerous. - Use some kind of a life vest. With it you don't need fins and waders. Use a mesh bag full of rocks for an anchor.

Most of the time I skip the float tube, fish from shore, and at the most wade some areas. I am getting to be a real "ounce squeezer" when I hike!
