The South Fork of the Clearwater has fish in it well up past Golden! It's running high and Muddy may be tough to drift with a fly rod although I'm sure some are!
We caught 3 and hooked more in the Miller hole right below where the South fork dumps in to the mainstream of the Clearwater! We were fishing the seam between the muddy and clearer water! When the sun was out the fish would go try to hide in the muddier colder water, about a 3 degree diff in temp.
I'll be on the Lochsa Fly rod in hand this weekend! I know the fish are well above Lowell, because We landed two Wilds at Lowell last Saturday Morning! One 10lb and one over 15lbs
The wife and I banked/boated 7 this last weekend and lost at least that many! Even ate our first freebie Jack Sunday night!
I wish I didn't have to work today or the rest of this week! I'd be there now!
