Yes it's that time of year. The opener. Ice is off as of last week. This should give the fish two weeks to get into thier regular routine. They will most likely scatter off the shoreline before the opener. There will be some near the shore (stragglers) but should not be like the last three years.
I'm happy that the fish will be scattered and into thier normal routines
Sorry guys I like the fair chase--chase of it all.
The Docks are supposed to be off limits but rarely do people follow this rule. I have a picture that puts approx 160 people from the east side of the docks to the first point past the info sign at the state boat dock. Do the math. It brings out the best in a lot of people snagging, rippng lips, kicking fish into the water after they are released.
Fishing the Opportunity that this provides would be okay if it didnt bring out the uglyness in people and how they treat the resource. To teach a new person, disabled etc. would be a great opportunity. However, they get shoved a side by the idiots and ()((***&&D))***%%$$.
Henrys Lake has been a famed water for years and years due to the management of the resource. Why fix and change what isn't broke.
Sorry but I'm not in favor of year round fishing on this priceless resource and never will be! Period!
Ok rant it over! Let the season begin
