Most biologists will tell you that when a biomass becomes home to carp, whitefish or suckers, killing the big ones does not reduce the number of those species in the water. It simply replaces the larger fish with multiple smaller fish of the same species. Smaller egg eaters are far more predatory to game fish spawn then are the larger of the species whose diet is more varied.
