I have no problem with people keeping fish as long as the laws aren't broken. I think that each person should decide for themselves what they will do, and not pass judgment on what other people are doing. If you never keep a bass or trout or whatever over X pounds, that's fine. But don't start telling people that's what they have to do when the law allows them to keep it.
I rarely keep trout, because I personally find freshly stocked planters to taste disgusting. That hatchery feed they get makes their meat pasty, and most of the family fishing waters around Boise have such heavy fishing pressure that the fish never get a chance to acclimate to a natural diet before they all get caught out.
I rarely keep bass, because I don't like the way they taste. But I'm not going to go flaming someone when I see a bass on their stringer.
