Careful at "Da 'Berry"
#6
Just saw a post on the sandies from the half day boats fishing at Imperial Beach near the border. There are reports of 2500-3000 sandbass counts for a single daily. Unbelievable. I used to fish the ole barred sandbass a lot. They are suckers for a whole squid. Never much liked the taste of sandies though. Couldn't bring myself to kill a calico these days. Too valauble a sportfish to kill. Still can't let a legal 'Butt' go though. I think a California halibut is probably the finest fish flesh on the face of the earth. I once caught an 18 lb. and a 14 lb. sheephead on consecutive drops at the Point Loma kelp beds. Dang, I miss that fishing. They have sent me five letters asking for additional info on a job I applied for in Carlsbad, so I think I may get an offer soon. Of all the fishing I've ever done in my middle aged life, punching out through the surf in a kayak and paddling out to kelp beds in San Diego is number one. Spent my youth on the one day Coronado Island trips. I've done tons of Baja trips also, as apparently you have also. I love Utah, but to get back to the surf is a long standing dream of mine. Now you have me waxing nostalgic. My moods set for the day. I should just bail and go stick some greenies at the Stein. LMAO. Later Bro.

Good Fishing, Kayote
