The styrofoam floor is working as desired BUT I'm guessing the styrofoam will have a somewhat limited lifetime depending upon the care it receives. I'm thinking that those foam float boards used by children learning to swim may be sturdier and a longer lived alternative to the styrofoam. For now this will work for my needs.
