I do a decent amount of lurking here, but not too many posting. But...I think idahoron hit the nail on the head.
I have a 3.5 year old daughter and there's not a chance I would consider tent camping in SE this early in the year -- and I grew up in SE Idaho.
I personally think Miracle Hot Springs would be a great place to hole up for a night or three. Obviously, there's the warm/hot water for the kids (and you) to play in. The various ponds will offer good fishing for youngsters. This part of the state is typically the warmest it gets this time of year. Plus, the various locations where water is gushing out of the rocks is pretty darn cool.
In fact, I'm planning on taking my daughter down there in the next week or 2 to give her a good shot at landing a fish. We tried the small lakes at Bruneau Sand Dunes a couple of weeks ago, but it was just too cold yet.
Good luck!
