Dry storage ideas for 0DC 420
#34
The maiden voyage of my styrofoam lined storage compartment went well today. A couple of hours of kicking and fishing with everything staying dry!

Because of the rise in the "floor" of the compartment from seat to pointed front of the compartment, I used one piece of 2" think styrofoam about 4" long and the width of the seat to be positioned directly behind the seat. I did not cover the drain holes with this first piece of styrofoam. A second piece of the 2" thick styrofoam was cut to fit the entire area of the compartment and laid on top of the smaller first piece. While it didn't completely level the "floor" it did raise everything enough to keep it above the water line. Both pieces of styrofoam were positioned before the tubes were fully inflated and everything stayed in place snugly. I did cut the tip end of the second piece off enough to be able to grip the tube from that end as I usually do to carry it.
