I don't notice it on my H3, but my toon I did.
It s easier to lift up and down on the side, but I mounted mine on the back about an inch above level ground. It ends up in the water about 4 inches. maybe a little more with me and the battery/motor.
I can pull it out of the water and not worry about lifting it up.
In other words, it is always down. The motor however, is a different story...LOL
