Well I got the toon in the water yeasterday. It was great. Went to the LB @ UL. It was a great day to give it a go.
The only thing is that I wish I would not have forgoten the pump, the air temp was cool on the drive down and the toon was a little soft. It would have been nice to put a little more air in. All in all it still worked great. Easy to get around in. The placement of everything was good all except the pole holder that came with it. I felt like I was reaching way to far forward to get to it. It must be a game for some of the boaters to see just how much they can rock you. It took the boat wake well and was not to bad when the breeze came up around 11:00. the water temp was 44.5. I fished the bottom really hard looking for some walleye. I hooked up with on right at the point to the bay and had it almost to the toon before I lost it. Looked like a big fat female around 24 to 26 inches. Had two other bites for the day on the jigs and a few on a drifting worm.
Lots of snags, but I managed not to loose a single jig.
Not sure if the white bass were just just jumping for the heck of it but it looked like some walleye must have been driving them to the edge of the bank, 3 or 4 would come out of the water at a time like they were trying to get away from something. Anyway I hope I can get it down to the lake again during the week, that is if the afternoon wind are not to bad.
