Ok getting back on track....... My thoughts on the situation at hand are as follows. The salmon river system has had a great return of steelhead this year and the hatcheries will begin to see this very soon when they are literally flooded with hatchery reared steelhead. From what I understand all of the hatcheries located along the salmon river are going to exceed well and truly beyond the numbers needed for hatchery escapement thus creating a surplus of hatchery fish for anglers. Why not increase the season limit to 80 if you decide to purchase an extra tag? Besides how many anglers do you know that fill one card let alone two? In reality there arent a great deal of anglers out there that will fill one card let alone two. Sounds good on paper but in reality I bet only a small percentage of anglers purchase a second card. Another solution would be to truck hatchery origin fish back down river and let anglers take another crack at them. By doing this all the small towns along the salmon river would benefit because if there are still fish to be caught people will flock to these towns to catch them and a percentage of the fish would be harvested.
