I'm sure that you have some good information and I appreciate your desire to share your wisdom. Thanks for your input.
The people on this board are a really great bunch. None of us know everything and are here to learn and share information.
So far we have got along great using a system that is commonly referred to as courtesy and good manners. You can have a difference of opinion without being negative, name calling, or attacking anyone.
We were talking about other options on the return run steelhead. Did you have a solution that you wanted to present?
What we wrote down was obviously very brief thoughts and not a doctoral thesis. There are few kelts that return as far as Idaho a second or third year especially the males, but some do. That isn't the only point.
The point is that steelhead continue to eat and are very catchable all the way back down the river, or as far as they make it. If they make it back down to the ocean they are catchable there, or part way up the river, or however far they get they still a great sport fish. Those that don't make it fertilize the system.
