I know it pissed you off (it would have done the same to me) but I think it's funnier than heck that guys say crap like that. You probably ended up with more fish than him. Just a thought on dries, if you're good nymphing isn't dry fly fishing easy? Not that I don't appreciate dries (it's actually my favorite method) it's just that you already know how to cast, mend, and get good drag-free drifts. Now you've just got to set up once you see the fish take your fly!! It just seems simpler to me.
