Loveridge Bridge Area
#5
We always refer to Loveridge Bridge as the demarcation point between lake and river. Downstream of the bridge is the lake. Not sure if there is an official line, but it works for us.

The launch is 10 minutes from my house. I fish there a lot. Right now ID power is running 3 turbines almost all day long, and there is a ton of current, but it would take all day to float to Crane. Once thinbgs slow down in the late spring (or now depending on the draw throught the dam) you may never get there. It is mostly private property for the first 3 miles on the north side, and there is private on the south, so bugging out and hiking back may be a problem. The top few miles on the south side is open land. If you have a boat for support, I think it might be do-able, just hope for a downstream wind. Getting a 20 mph wind from the west would stop you cold. It maigh take you a week or so to make the float if you get the wrong winds... Wink

There is good fishing for bass, perch, crappie, cats, sturgeon, trout, carp, bluegill, pretty much everything (depending on what part of that section you are in).

Water depth varies from very shallow to over 40 feet in there. My suggestion is stay toward the center till you get to the three middle islands then veer left around them, that way you will follow the channel (with the most current). once you get to the 1st pump house on the south shore, the channel follows the south shore past the corner.
