Buddy of mine told me about a creek outside St. George that held some small cutts the other day, so with cabin fever setting in here in Vegas.. I decided to make it my first trip of the year. Arrived at 9 am weather was beautiful. Made my way down to the creek..no clear paths down into the gorge so had to do some rock scrambling. Ended up being some of the hardest fishing I have done in a while.. felt like guerilla warfare fishing.. spent half the time on my belly crawling through brush to get to where the fish were holding. It was clear that nobody maintains this stream.. lots of overgrown brush and no game paths to walk the creek = /. Started off with nymph which was ignored by quite a few fish so I switched to a dry. Now that was the ticket..Caught 11 fish total.. all pretty small 6-9 inches. Even caught myself on video catching the biggest fish of the day which was about 9-10 inches.
