List your rigs!
#5
[cool]I use several outfits for stripers. It all depends on the size of the fish targeted. For the large swimbaits I use a 7' Ugly stik with a Penn 955 International baitcaster w/17lb test mono, a 7' Quantum with a 400 series Shimano Corvalus w/20lb test mono, and a 7' Ugly stik with a Penn 4000 series Sargus spinning reel w/14lb test mono. These handle the bulk of the trout imitating swimbaits. I use two lighter 12lb test outfits(one spinning and one baitcaster) on 7' rods for a little challenge on the big stripers. All smaller stripers on 8 or 6lb test spinning and baitcasting rigs. I like a few "arrows in the quiver" when I go for the linesides. I will also take out either an 8wt or 6wt flyrod when the conditions are good. I haven't tried braid yet but will try it soon. I have read that a uni knot to uni knot works great to connect to mono or fluoro.
