Hi,
I am hoping someone will reconize the little snap in the attached photo and can tell me where I can buy some. It is a great little snap and works really well, especially on crank baits...if someone can help I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks
Funny that you should ask about snaps... 'cause I'm a "snapper" too! In fact, I recently posted a "Do You Snap, or Do You Tie" question in the TACKLE TIPS folder further down in this forum.
I regularly use a Palomar knot for my plastics and jigs, but like the ease-of-change that a snap provides for those lures that already have a bunch of "hardware" (spinnerbait/buzzbaits).
I've lost a couple of crankbaits when - I think - the line had gotten nicked by the split-ring on crankbaits. I also have trouble tying a Palomar and getting the "loop" over/past all the trebles (and don't want to learn/tie a different knot), so I use a snap on my crankbaits. A number of them recommend that you use a "loop-knot" for better action... well, I just use a snap.
I'm not lucky enough to fish for/catch fish so large that I need to worry about a snap failure, but with those that I HAVE caught (up to 9lbs.), I've never had a snap fail.
Your thoughts?
