Actually, sounds you may have been at Redfish during the microburst? Came in over the lake and blew out Glacierview C.G. A few injuries and a fallen trees damaged some RV's. Glacierview was always our favorite Redfish C.G. and that's where we were originally headed. After getting there, Glacerview was closed with numerous trees down; looked like a tornado had hit. We wound up in the C.G. across from the boat ramp. Too many jetskis, boats, kids, etc. (around 50 people in the two campsites on our flanks so we headed over to Alturas. That valley behind the lake is a real wind generator. Still in all, Alturas is one of the prettiest C.G.'s I've stayed at in S.W. Idaho; especially if you want solitude.
