I hit Springfield today since I could no longer stand not casting a fly. This is the earliest in the year I have ever fly fished. The weather was not to bad actually. It was around 36 and a slight breeze. The fishing was ok. I hooked up on 10 fish during the 6 hours I was there and landed 3 that were 17"-18" and fat. Pretty good fight on my 3wt. I did hook one that I fought for about 5 mins that took me to my backing a few times, but the hook finally pulled loose. I may have to go back again and take the toon next time. I was just wading around the shallows today in the mud since I have not registered the toon yet. Looking at the weather, I may have to wait another week or 2 for temps to get back up to a some what comfortable range. Hopefully I got my cabin/fly fishing fever under control for a while, but I doubt it.
