Fishing in St. Maarten
#2
I was there in December. Took my travel surf rod, I stayed on the French side. The fishing over there was poor where I was. So I commuted every morning to the Salt Ponds. It was awesome. They are full of tarpon mostly 5-10 lbs. but I hooked up with the occasional hog too. Throw single hook lures either swim baits or Johnson spoons.

I have heard you can do well in Simpson, but that was a further drive I didn't feel like doing when I had all those tarpon calling my name.

The Salt Ponds are adjacent too the dump and are full of garbage. If you have had a garbage bag blow out of your truck on a gusty day and wondered where it went. It landed in the salt ponds. They are full of them. Good Luck.
