Uinta lakes

Late June is generally fine for many of the Uinta Lakes, especially the ones that you mentioned. My father (passed away at 80, 3 years back) used to always figure we could get into Mirror Lake, Grandaddy, etc by the 26th of June. I only remember 2 of the last 20 years they were still frozen then. Some of the higher country, Red Castle, Atwood basin, even Naturalist Basin will be a week or two later. This picture was taken June 28th, 2008 from Grandaddy pass, looking up into Naturalist Basin (this was an average snow year). Grandaddy Lake below, was open and great fishing that day. Mirror Lake was open the week prior. As you can see in the picture, Naturalist Basin was still a week out. Hope you have a great trip here in Utah.
