A cousin and I fished Sportsman's last Saturday. The fishing was slow. We got there around 9:30 and fished until dark. The total catch was 1 small trout and about 40 perch. None of the perch were over 5". There was a big high pressure system rolling in that might have had something to do with the poor fishing. Talking to others on the lake, it was as slow as they had seen it. From the reports, others have been fishing through the dinks to catch a few decent perch and are catching the random trout. As far as the ice goes, it was at least 12" with a couple inches of hard snow on top. No slush. The edges are a little thin in places so be careful if you are taking an atv, but you should be able to get on the ice easily. Hope this helps. Let us know how you do.
