That's really wierd that a buck would shed sooo early. I'm usually still seeing bucks in March with Antlers. What part of the state were you in?
That is a once ina lifetime find for sure!
Just a note: You can pick up sheds year round in Utah as long as you have a permit. There are only a few areas that have restrictions and most are State owned and locked up until the second Saturday in April (WMAs). Anywhere else is fair game although it's recommended that you don't go into the winter range while the animals are still there. I usually wait until April.
But, heck! If a buck sheds right in front of your car of course you are going to pick the dang things up.
