It didn't seem to matter a whole lot. I did notice these past two days that I had one pole that never got hit even once, and I think it might be because I have 10 pound ice line braid crap. All my other poles have 6 pound clear line. We caught fish on swedish pimples and ratsos plain hooks paddle bugs you name it. I do think it is easier to hook them with a small trebble but I switched over to single hooks when I wanted to try to keep only bigger fish. The trebbles were really hard to get out without ripping some lips off. So in my opinion the best jig, lure, and hook to use up there for kokanee is the one you have tied on your line.
