Minidoka dam to Heyburn
#4
It doesn't move real fast except for the first mile below the dam. there is also a place to take out where Jackson bridge use to be on the west side of the river. then baseline road. there is a company that drops off rafters and tubers at the dam and pick them up at baseline. takes the better part of the day I would guess you could get to the freeway bridge in a day but it would be a long one. lot of bass and trout along the way. the first few miles below the dam i have had the best luck drifting a fresh minnow. if that isn't possible drift a night crawler put on with a worm needle and about 18 inch leader. bass in that section love grubs fished Texas rig. olive pumpkin seed and grey metallic seem to be popular.
There aren't a lot of deep spots in the river but the channel seems to stay close to the middle or the right side of the river as your facing down stream. always keep the island to your left and you will find the deepest water.
there are suckers carp tout and whitefish in that section along with small mouth bass and sturgeon
watch out for wind on the section from frenchman's island down stream to burley much wind from the west and it wont be float able. If you decide to do this pm me your cell number and i will give you mine just in case you have any problems why your out on the river
kurt

Oh and i agree on the bowfishing we go out all the time do a lot of night hunts see a lot more people taking it up
