What a laugh.... our tax dollars at work. Installing a " low level radar system to detect water borne intrusion". This is a great example of a total waste of homeland security money or Utah tax dollars.
The key word is "Detect" and not "Prevent".
I always wanted to know just before my number is coming up so I can know.
I saw this system first hand at Rockport this fall by the spillway. Almost ran into the sonar bouy with my boat trolling and you know what, no one came out to greet me at the lake. But I'd assume that some guy was watching me on a camera after he was alerted to the potential intrusion and just went back to sleep.
I would have thought otherwise since I had two 5 gallon tanks of propane in the boat for my heater which could have been construed as something other than a heater.
We will all probably be lucky in that the bid was awarded to the low bidder and will msot likely stop working after a period of time and be shut down until a more costly less obsolesent solution can replace it.
